If you’re not mobile already, it’s time. Mobile Internet use is on the rise and with the new Google announcement, you can’t afford to be left out in the cold. Just take a look at these statistics:

  • 80% of Internet users own a smartphone.
  • 4 out of 5 consumers use smartphones to shop
  • In 2014 mobile usage outpaced desktop computer usage and the lead has only grown in 2015.

Now, Google has come out blatantly and stated that its search algorithm will now give priority to those sites which are “mobile-friendly.” It makes sense as over 50% of all Google searches are conducted on a mobile device. But what does this mean for your company and your website?

You need to get mobile-friendly now! Not tomorrow. Not next week. It’s time to embrace the mobile revolution. This is a bandwagon you need to jump on. The good news is, being mobile friendly is easy.

If you use WordPress to create your website, there are many great themes that are already mobile capable. Download a new theme, make the updates, and that’s it, you’re mobile. Kevo Social was created with a simple mobile friendly theme and it required no additional effort on my side. I still work on the website through my desktop, and the theme automatically converts the data to work perfectly on my mobile device.

If you use another platform, or if you hired a company to create your website for you, it’s time to do some research and see what it will take to upgrade. In this day-and-age, you’ll lose more business from not being mobile-friendly than it will cost you to update your website.

Believe us, you don’t want to risk being unsearchable on Google just because you weren’t ready for mobilegeddon.
